Jukebox and turntable needles
Turntable or jukebox needles, also commonly known as "heads" or "diamonds", are crucial components of turntables. They are small parts that are found on the end of the tonearm of the turntable and act as an interface between the vinyl groove and the audio amplification system. Their main function is to translate the microscopic vibrations present in the vinyl groove into electrical signals, which can be amplified and reproduced through speakers. The points, obviously, are not "eternal", but they do undergo wear. Therefore they must be replaced periodically. How do you understand, however, when the time for replacement has come?
